15 Elements In One Bottle
EASY TRACE delivers iron, manganese and iodine, the trace elements reef tanks deplete fastest, at daily replacement levels. It also supplies low levels of zinc, selenium, molybdenum, nickel, cobalt, vanadium, chromium, rubidium, boron, potassium, sulfur and bromine.
EASY TRACE is designed for steady, low-level input rather than chasing ICP set points. Each small daily dose is sized to be taken up between doses in a typical reef, so levels stay safe without constant testing. Perfect for nano tanks, budget tanks and systems built around simplicity.
Iron in an organic form:
Iron is one of the trace elements corals’ zooxanthellae depend on most, but it’s also the most reactive when dosed as a simple salt. In seawater, bare iron quickly binds to other compounds and drops out of solution, often before corals can use it. In the ocean, nearly all dissolved iron is carried by natural organic compounds called chelators, which protect it from these reactions. EASY TRACE follows the same principle, supplying iron as a biodegradable chelate in a stabilized solution rather than as a bare salt.
Gentle, biodegradable carriers, no EDTA:
Many iron supplements use a synthetic chelator called EDTA to keep iron dissolved. EDTA does solve the problem of iron falling out of the water, but it creates a new one: it grips iron so tightly that it may not let go when your corals need it. The iron stays in the water and shows up on tests, but much of it is locked away where the algae in your corals can’t easily reach it. EDTA is also very slow to break down, so with regular dosing it can build up in your tank over time. And because it doesn’t only bind iron, it can tie up other important trace elements as well.
EASY TRACE takes a different approach. It uses weaker, biodegradable organic carriers that keep iron soluble and stable in the bottle and deliver it in a form that releases easily once dosed. Research on marine phytoplankton has found that iron held by weaker carriers is released and taken up more readily than iron bound to EDTA. Because these carriers are biodegradable, they’re broken down naturally instead of accumulating.

Instructions:
Dose 1 mL per 10 US gallons (38 L) daily.
New or lightly stocked tanks (mostly fish, few corals, or under 6 months old): start at 1 mL per 20 US gallons (76 L) daily and work up as the tank fills in.
Do not increase beyond 1 mL per 10 gallons without testing. Run an ICP after 4 weeks and check iron and manganese. If both are mid-range or lower, increase by 50% (1.5 mL per 10 gallons daily). If either is near the top of its range, hold or reduce. Retest before increasing again.
Reduce or pause if you are battling dinoflagellates or cyanobacteria.
Testing note: Sample for ICP immediately before your next EASY TRACE dose, never shortly after dosing. Sampling within a few hours of a dose shows a temporary spike that doesn’t reflect your tank’s actual levels.
